Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Indonesia and Prevention Efforts
According the world health organization (WHO) COVID-19 is the infectious disease caused by the most recently discovered coronavirus. This new virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. The initial spread of the corona virus around the world is believed to originate from the "wet market" in Wuhan, China which sells living and dead animals, including fish and birds. Such markets pose a higher risk of viruses moving from animals to humans because hygiene standards are difficult to maintain if live animals are maintained and slaughtered at the site. Usually, the market is also so dense that disease can spread from one species to another. The source of the Covid-19 animal has not yet been identified, but the original host is a bat.
